Ben Tscheschlok [EXPLICIT]

MTSU Honors College Buchanan Scholar, MTSU Young Democratic Socialists of America Secretary, and MTSU Student Workers Advocacy Secretary Ben Tscheschlok stops by to discuss his Honors College thesis.

Hey friend,

We’re getting a little meta this time around—an MTSU Honors Thesis podcast where I interview an MTSU Honors College student about his thesis!

MTSU Honors College Buchanan Scholar Ben Tscheschlok stops by The Kennel to discuss his Honors Thesis on the role of billionaires in paving the road to fascism.

Ben is one of the first friends I met at MTSU after I transferred two years ago, where we would end up working together in the Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter.

Further, he’s also working on a thesis that examines the democratic threats posed by the billionaire ruling class, focusing specifically on three Silicon Valley Oligarchs—Marc Andreesen, Peter Thiel, and Elon Musk. Given the class-focused analysis that I bring to my thesis, a discussion with Ben about his academic endeavors seemed quite fitting.

It’s a fun interview with a good friend.

Thanks to Ben for stopping by, and thanks to you for listening to/watching this episode!

I’ll be back soon with one last episode to conclude this Honorable Series!

Note: At the end of the interview, we talked about how we didn’t know if Honors Theses can be accessed by the public, not just MTSU students. Turns out, you can!

So, if you’re interested in seeing Ben’s thesis when it’s done, keep an eye on that site around the end of the school year.

The Honorable Series
This is a series of interviews I'm producing for the Fall 2024 semester at Middle Tennessee State University for my thesis with the Honors College. You'll find some of my usual interviews with candidates who reject corporate PAC money, but you'll also see a few episodes featuring discussions on topics relevant to the written component of the thesis.
